From the Admissions Home Page you can make or view applications for admission to a school and (if your Local Authority permits online appeal applications) you can make or view an appeal.
Applications
There are two Applications buttons:
• Make an application for admission to school - to allow the completion of a new application form for a student whose Unique Identifier (UID) is known to the applicant, or to allow the completion of a new application form for a student whose Unique Identifier (UID) is not known to the applicant. See Application for Admission to School.
• View or Edit Existing Applications - if you have already made an application, this allows you to view, edit, submit or print existing application forms. See Existing Applications. Only submitted applications can be printed.
Please note that only one application can be finally processed for each student. If you make multiple applications (either online or using a paper form) the Admissions team will make unnecessary applications inactive. If an application is made inactive it will no longer be available online and will not be listed here.
Making an application consists of three processes:
1. Entering the child's details
2. Selecting and ranking the preferred schools (you can modify the selected of preferred schools and their ranking at any point before the admission group closing date and time)
3. Submitting the application form
These can be accessed individually for an application that has already been made, from the Existing Applications page.
Appeals
If your child has been allocated a place at a school and you are not happy with this you may wish to appeal against the decision. Some Local Authorities will allow you to make an appeal application online after they have published the school allocations online. If this is the case then there will be two additional buttons on the Home Page:
• Make an Appeal: If you choose to make a new appeal you will be taken to the Unique Link to Application page where you will be asked to enter the Unique ID number for the application (UID) issued by the Local Authority. If you do not have the UID you will need to contact the Authority. When you have entered a recognised UID you will be taken to the Appeal Application page.
• View or Edit Existing Appeals: If you choose to view or edit existing appeals you will be taken to the My Appeals page where you will be able to view information relating to, and monitor the progress of all appeals made by you.
Please ensure that the UID characters are entered in UPPER CASE and are copied carefully from the Local Authority letter.
At the bottom of this page are a series of links. Select a link to download a blank application or appeal form (if you wish to return the form by post rather than via this online system), change your password, contact the Local Authority or logout.
If you wish to send in a paper application or appeal form rather than apply online, select the Blank Application Form(s) or Blank Appeal Form button at the bottom of the page. If your Authority has a single application/appeal form to cover all school applications/appeals then this will be displayed for you to print. If your Authority uses different forms to cover different phases of transfer (e.g. nursery to primary, primary to secondary) or for groups of children from different areas then you will be taken to a page where you can choose the correct form to display and print. Please note that these forms must be printed - they cannot be completed online.
